TSHIRT ADVENTURES

What ticked the right boxes about this collaboration?
« As an athlete, I think I have a certain responsibility in the messages I convey to the public, especially to young people. What convinced me was Engton’s sustainability credentials. Our young fans are tomorrow’s consumers. We need to make them aware of the importance of changing the way we buy our clothes. »
This drop is very much you. How did you design it?
« For an athlete who spends his life in shorts and t-shirts, being asked to design a clothing range is as good as it gets. But I felt the pressure. I wanted to include different elements I care about: the crown and the Belgian flag that symbolise my pride in being Belgian and, along with my team, having put our country on the world map. I also added sentences that sum up who I am: In victory, stay humble, in defeat, be strong. »
What is your biggest take-away from this experience?
« I had a lot of fun and I think that comes across in every design in this collection. I hope it will help people remember that life is there to be enjoyed. We only have one life. So why waste it? »
